Chambers Could Re-Sign With Chiefs
Chris Chambers has four touchdowns in his first four games with the Chiefs.
Chambers, who was released by the Chargers a month ago, will be a free agent at the end of the season.
"I'm not a player that's on the decline," he said Sunday after Kansas City lost to San Diego. "If anything, I'm experienced. I know how to play. I don't miss too many."
He told the Kansas City Star that he's open to re-signing with the Chiefs after the season.
Steelers Looking At Quarterback Options
The Steelers have brought in veteran quarterbacks Patrick Ramsey and Todd Bouman.
Ben Roethlisberger is expected to play on Sunday in the wake of a head injury, but backup Charlie Batch will miss some time with a wrist injury.
Batch had surgery on Wednesday and was expected to be out two to four weeks.
Runyan Working Out Deal With Chargers
The Chargers are working out a deal with free-agent tackle Jon Runyan, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Runyan, a longtime Eagle, hasn't played this season.
Source: Saints Sign Chris McAlister
The Saints have reached an agreement with safety Chris McAlister, according to a source.
McAlister was cleared by doctors a week ago to play despite knee problems that have been nagging him for years.
A source told ESPN's Adam Schefter the Saints cut quarterback Chase Daniel on Tuesday, leaving a roster spot for McAlister.
Bengals Work Out Joey Galloway
The Bengals had free agent wide receiver Joey Galloway in for a tryout on Tuesday.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the news on his Twitter page.
"Cincinnati Bengals did more than sign Larry Johnson. They tried out WR Joey Galloway and two former Colts, DT Ed Johnson and S Mike Doss," he wrote.
Polamalu To Miss At Least One Game
Steelers safety Troy Polamalu will miss at least one game with an injured left knee.
He reinjured his knee on Sunday against the Bengals.
Polamalu originally suffered the injury in the team's season-opening win against the Titans.
Larry Johnson Expects To Sign With Bengals
Larry Johnson traveled to Cincinnati on Monday and expects to sign with the Bengals.
A source familiar with the negotiations told ESPN's Michael Smith of the talks.
If a contract agreement is reached, it's expected to be for the league's prorated minimum.
Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said that Johnson would come on as the team's fourth running back.
"That's what his role would be, it would be as a fourth running back and an opportunity as a backup player on this football team doing all the things backup players do, and that's work their tails off in the kicking game and showing looks [on the scout team] and so forth that way," Lewis said. "And then he would be an insurance policy if something would happen down the line to one of our guys where he'd have a chance to be active.
"But I couldn't foresee him being active when he was initially here, if this is what happens. And that's what I've told him."
Larry Johnson May Have To Wait For Home
Free agent running back Larry Johnson may have to wait to find a new home.
The personnel and coaching departments for several franchises have discussed internally the pros and cons of pursuing Johnson, according to ESPN's Len Pasquarelli.
Johnson's agent conceded that his client will not sign with anyone before next week.
Patriots To 'Discuss' Larry Johnson
The Patriots planned to discuss adding free agent running back Larry Johnson on Tuesday afternoon.
New England coach Bill Belichick told the Boston Herald of the team's plans.
"We'll discuss that organizationally this afternoon," Belichick said.
"We'll decide then if there's anything we want to do. To be honest with you, we've just been focused on Indianapolis, and our pro people are figuring that. We kind of do that every week at this time. Our pro people go through the guys that are available, whether it's waivers or teams that have injuries or changes to a guy's status or guys we want to work out or other teams work out. After all that, it's not just about one guy, but after all that gets done, we'll talk about the whole thing in a group and what our plans are for the whole week. Whether it's to work a guy out or claim a guy or talk to his representative, whatever happens. That's something we'll do between now and 4 o'clock."
Bears, Redskins, Texans Appear Interested In Johnson
The Redskins, Bears and Texans all appear at least somewhat interested in signing Larry Johnson.
"Any player that's available, we look at," said Bears coach Lovie Smith. "That's been our standard policy throughout. That'll be the case with Larry."
Houston coach Gary Kubiak agreed.
"When a name like that comes on the free agent market like today, we'll obviously go back and take a look at him just like any other player," Kubiak said. "Obviously, he's been a good player in this league and I'm sure he'll get a lot of interest from a lot of people."
Redskins Already Interested In Larry Johnson
The Redskins could keep Larry Johnson in red and yellow.
